FAQ - FACE OIL
Can I use the FACE OIL and the ELIXIR together?
You definitely can and I recommend you do! The ELIXIR and the FACE OIL have different yet equally important functions in your skincare routine.
The ELIXIR is a non-oily fast absorbing serum that heals acne, eczema, rosacea, hyper pigmentation, and scars among other skin irritations. Immediately after applying the ELIXIR, your skin will feel plump and refreshed. After repeated use, it reveals an overall younger, radiant look to your skin. It absorbs quickly and it is the perfect base to layer the rest of your skincare routine, both for morning and night.
The FACE OIL is an oil based moisturizer. It hydrates and nurtures your skin with a powerful blend of antioxidant rich, certified organic, unrefined plant based oils. Also added to the blend, essential oils with cicatrisant properties to regenerate skin at a cellular level. The FACE OIL is perfect for mature skin but does wonders to all skin types, including oily skins.
Is the FACE OIL recommended for oily skin types?
Yes and you won't regret it. Oily skin requires hydration too, specially if you have constantly stripped your skin’s natural oils by using harsh soaps and drying skincare. This leads to overproduction of sebum as your skin is constantly battling to keep itself moisturized. It is a vicious circle worsen by hormone imbalances, diet, and other factors.
An irritated over-stripped skin with compromised acid mantle, the slightly acidic film that protects your skin from bacteria among other contaminants, is more prone to acne and other skin conditions. The acids that make up your skin’s acid mantle are secreted by your sebaceous glands, the same in charge of oil production. By striping the oils that “are causing your breakouts”, you are also removing the acids in charge of preventing acne causing bacteria from entering your skin. You are causing more damage to your skin this way, becoming your skin’s worst enemy.
Once you stop stripping your skin of oils and start adding moisture while caring for your acid mantle, your skin will slowly go back to a state of balance. The FACE OIL is light, fast absorbing and doesn't leave an oily film on your skin as it is formulated with non-comedogenic oils that won’t clog your pores. And even though coconut oil has a comedogenic rating of 4, we add it as one of the ingredients in the FACE OIL for its high content of lauric acid giving it anti-bacterial, antiviral and anti fungal properties. Make sure to apply the FACE OIL as I explain below for best results.
How should I apply the FACE OIL? What about when used with the ELIXIR?
On freshly clean and dry skin, apply the ELIXIR. After less than a minute, once the Elixir is fully absorbed into your skin, place 2 drops (or 4-6 at nighttime) of the FACE OIL to the palm of your hands. Rub them together to disperse and activate the oil. Gently pat into your face, under eye area, neck and décolletage. Tip: I love to cup my hands together in front of my nose while taking a deep inhale before applying.
