No Ugly Ingredients

Here at NATIVO we strongly believe that beauty is not only skin deep - and we treat our ingredients the same way. We do not stand by any ingredient that promises to make you beautiful, while hurting your health at the same time. These are the "UGLY INGREDIENTS", as I have come to call them over the past 11 years creating organic skincare products. Sadly, these are found everywhere in conventional beauty and hygiene items; some in plain sight, others are deceptively hidden.

According to the Environmental Working Group, the average adult will use nine personal care products every day, exposing themselves to upwards of 150 unique toxic ingredients. Other studies have even shown that the average woman's daily grooming and makeup routine can lead up to the absorption of a staggering 515 different synthetic chemicals in her body. These "UGLY INGREDIENTS" range from known carcinogens, hormone disruptors, neurotoxins, immune system disruptors, allergens, cause birth defects, and more. You can never be too cautious when it comes to you and your family's health, and so as a preventative measure it is a good idea to stay away from ingredients you do not recognise or are unaware of their effects on your health.

However, this isn't about being scared or paranoid. It is about being empowered. To be knowledgeable on what ingredients you apply on your skin brings great value and peace of mind. I truly believe everyone should do their own research and decide what is best for you, those you love, and the Earth.

In 2005, I began crafting the products that are now part of the current NATIVO line for my personal use. It was then that I first became aware of the unfortunate truths behind conventional skincare and makeup brands. Back then (and even still yet!) there weren't many brands that were purists in their formulations. Nourishing our skin with food should be common sense, but sadly it isn’t.

Organic skincare is not only safe, but it is also highly effective. Nature has gifted us with the most potent sources of healing to nurture our bodies, both internally and externally. NATIVO therefore only uses ingredients that are certified organic to ensure the purest, unadulterated, non contaminated sources of nourishment FOR YOUR HEALTH + BEAUTY.

The best thing you can do FOR YOUR HEALTH + BEAUTY is to educate yourself. Research on your own and read ingredient labels. All organic products are natural, but not all natural products are organic. Make sure you know all the ingredients in the ingredient list, and if you don’t know, look it up before purchasing and do not be afraid to ASK questions. In the end if we all work together, we can make Earth a safer and more beautiful place to live.
